Informatics, Data Science and AI Consultation

Mayo Clinic Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCaTS) provides one-on-one consultations for investigators and study teams in the areas of clinical research informatics, data science and artificial intelligence (AI). The consultation service line helps researchers make the most of information in electronic health records and other data sources to provide data-driven solutions for clinical research and patient care at Mayo Clinic.

Service description

CCaTS has partnered with Mayo's Division of Digital Health Sciences to offer a consultation service providing educational support to investigators in the areas of:

  • State-of-the-art informatics research
  • Data science

  • Natural language processing

Consultations can help researchers best use informatics tools such as i2b2, Advanced Text Explorer and the Shared Health Research Informatics Network for feasibility assessment, cohort identification and data collection.

Additionally, the consultation service team is developing a wide range of applications for deriving knowledge from data to support clinicians and biomedical researchers in their clinical practice and research.

Specific consultation topics include:

  • Study feasibility, cohort identification and patient recruitment
  • Data collection, retrieval and extraction
  • Data science, informatics and AI
  • Data standards and interoperability
  • Translational research
  • COVID-19 research
