Novel SEQUEnced Immunotherapy With Anti-angiogenesis and Chemotherapy in Advanced gastroesophageaL Adenocarcinoma (SEQUEL) Rochester, Minn. This is a randomized Phase 2 study of novel SEQUEnced immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) with anti-angiogenesis and chemotherapy in advanced gastric and gastroesophageaL junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma (SEQUEL) designed to to evaluate the best overall response rate (BORR) of combined ramucirumab (RAM) plus paclitaxel (+/- pembrolizumab) following induction pembrolizumab (PEM) in patients with advanced gastric and GEJ adenocarcinoma. Impact of Surgical Removal or Reduction Procedures on Markers of Immune Function in Adult Patients with Renal and Bladder Tumors and Pediatric Patients with Genitourinary Tumors Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to find out more about certain markers of immune suppression in people with kidney tumors (whether the tumors are benign or cancer). Also want to find out if kidney tumor treatment leads to an improvement in these immune markers. A Study to Evaluate Screening Contrast Enhanced Digital Mammogram (CEDM) in Study Participants at Intermediate Breast Cancer Risk and Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) Results Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate a low-cost Contrast Enhanced Digital Mammogram (CEDM) protocol as a supplemental screening method to standard mammographic screening in women at intermediate lifetime-risk (and not undergoing annual MR surveillance) for breast cancer. Dabrafenib Combined With Trametinib After Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Newly-Diagnosed High-Grade Glioma Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to estimate the event-free survival (EFS) distribution for newly-diagnosed patients with BRAFV600-mutant high-grade glioma (HGG) without H3 K27M mutations excluding anaplastic pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (aPXA) and anaplastic ganglioglioma (aGG) treated with radiation therapy followed by a maintenance combination of dabrafenib and trametinib and to compare this EFS to contemporary historical controls. A Study of Hematopoiesis in Patients with Monoclonal B Cell Lymphocytosis (MBL), B-Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), and Healthy Controls Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine the cellular and mechanistic basis of bone marrow hematopoietic dysfunction in untreated Monoclonal B Cell Lymphocytosis (MBL) and B-Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) patients. Pre-myeloid Cancer and Bone Marrow Failure Clinic Study Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to test a new technology called Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) that may help identify this risk associated with precursor conditions and the likelihood that they will change into overt blood and bone marrow cancers. NGS is a procedure that looks at relevant cancer associated genes and what they do. A Study to Evaluate the Incidence and Psychological Impact of Vaginal Cuff Dehiscence After Different Types of Hysterectomy Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to compare the incidence of cuff dehiscence in patients who have undergone total robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy vs. total vaginal hysterectomy, to identify risk factors for cuff dehiscence, and to study the impact of cuff dehiscence on a patient’s psychological well-being. "Prescribing" Exercise to Cancer Patients at High-Risk for Falls Rochester, Minn. Falls are common and catastrophic in cancer patients. Cancer patients are vulnerable to falls due to muscle loss. In prescribing exercise in a data driven manner to cancer patients, our hypothesis is this "prescription" for exercise will eventually be demonstrated to reduce the occurrence of injurious falls. A Study to Assess a New Personalized Tool for Colorectal Cancer Peritoneal Disease Treatment Rochester, Minn. The objectives of this study are to genomically characterize patient-derived organoids (PDOs) and primary tissues from colorectal peritoneal cancer (CRC) disease, to evaluate the use of PDOs as a new personalized therapy selection tool for intraperitoneal therapy in CRC peritoneal disease, and to evaluate the use of PDOs as a new personalized therapy selection tool for systemic therapy in CRC peritoneal disease. A Study to Examine Financial Distress in Patients Undergoing Treatment of Locally-advanced Rectal Cancer Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to examine the needs and gap in our understanding of financial burden experienced by rectal cancer patients from a patient perspective to help provide patient centered care and improve psychosocial outcomes of this group. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
