A Study to Compare Administering Olaparib Concurrently With Radiotherapy vs. Radiotherapy Alone in Treating Patients With Inflammatory Breast Cancer Rochester, Minn., La Crosse, Wis., Eau Claire, Wis. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well radiation therapy with or without olaparib works in treating patients with inflammatory breast cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Olaparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether radiation therapy with or without olaparib may work better in treating patients with inflammatory breast cancer. Chemotherapy Alone or Chemotherapy Plus Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients with Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer Undergoing Surgery Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The standard treatment for locally advanced rectal cancer involves chemotherapy and radiation, known as 5FUCMT, (the chemotherapy drugs 5-fluorouracil/capecitabine and radiation therapy) prior to surgery. Although radiation therapy to the pelvis has been a standard and important part of treatment for rectal cancer and has been shown to decrease the risk of the cancer coming back in the same area in the pelvis, some patients experience undesirable side effects from the radiation and there have been important advances in chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation which may be of benefit. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects, both good and bad, of the standard treatment of chemotherapy and radiation to chemotherapy using a combination regimen known as FOLFOX, (the drugs 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), oxaliplatin and leucovorin) and selective use of the standard treatment, depending on response to the FOLFOX. The drugs in the FOLFOX regimen are all FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved and have been used routinely to treat patients with advanced colorectal cancer. A Study to Evaluate Circulating Cell Free Tumor DNA as a Biomarker in Sarcoma Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of ctDNA detection in patients with advanced translocation-associated sarcomas. A Study to Evaluate Factors in Breast Cancer Screening Among Asian Americans in Olmsted and Surrounding Counties Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of acculturation, socio-economic status (SES) and place of residence (urban vs. rural) on the level of participation in breast cancer screening programs and on the breast cancer knowledge and beliefs among Asian American women in Olmsted and surrounding counties. Feasibility of a Point of Prostate Cancer Diagnosis Intervention for Newly Diagnosed Black Men Jacksonville, Fla. The specific aims of this study are to plan and develop a PPCD iCCaRE ViRA model that will provide social determinants of health (SDOH) navigation services, psycho-oncology support and emotional support using qualitative formative research, and to establish the acceptance and usability of the iCCaRE ViRA at a urology clinic among 50 Black men (BM). Niraparib + TSR042 In BRCA Mutated Breast Cancer Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate pre-operative therapy that is specifically targeted for breast cancer in individuals with BRCA mutations. The drugs are Niraparib (Zejula) and Dostarlimab. Abemaciclib Versus Placebo in Patients With Advanced Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to evaluate abemaciclib versus placebo to treat Advanced Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma. Patients with progression of disease will cross over to open label abemaciclib. Oligomets pancreas SBRT Jacksonville, Fla. The primary endpoint for this study will compare PFS between SBRT + standard chemotherapy vs. standard chemotherapy alone in patients with oligometastatic pancreatic cancer. PFS is defined as the time from randomization to the first of either disease progression or death from any cause, where disease progression will be determined based on RECIST 1.1 criteria and will be documented at each enrolling site with no central review planned. A Dose-Escalation and Expansion Study of BGB-16673 in Participants With B-Cell Malignancies Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Jacksonville, Fla. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
