A Study to Examine Financial Distress in Patients Undergoing Treatment of Locally-advanced Rectal Cancer

About this study

The purpose of this study is to examine the needs and gap in our understanding of financial burden experienced by rectal cancer patients from a patient perspective to help provide patient centered care and improve psychosocial outcomes of this group.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adult patients age 18 years or older.
  • Adult English speaking patients.
  • Must have completed, or are undergoing, treatment for locally-advanced rectal cancer at Mayo Clinic over a period of 4 years.

Exclusion Critiera:

  • Adult patients under 18 years of age.
  • Adult patients who cannot speak English.
  • Adult patients who have not completed, or are not undergoing, treatment for locally-advanced rectal cancer at Mayo Clinic over a period of 4 years.
