Inclusion Criteria:

Atopic Asthma

• Physician diagnosed asthma with demonstrated reversibility of bronchoconstriction. 
  • Patients should also have evidence of allergic sensitization via new or existing skin testing to aeroallergens or IgE serum immunoassay testing to aeroallergens. 

Normal Controls: 

• Normal controls are healthy individuals with no history of allergy, asthma or sinus disease.

Exclusion Criteria:

1. Patients who have received systemic glucocorticoids during the past 4 weeks (topical not excluded)
2. Current smokers or within the past year (previous smokers must have < 10 pack/year history)
3. Diagnosed with an immunodeficiency or cystic fibrosis
4. Immunotherapy for any allergen
5. Pregnancy
