Dr. Lundstrom and his colleagues investigate the computational properties of neurons and how they are affected by electrical stimulation

Overview

The Brain Adaptation and Stimulation Lab of Brian N. Lundstrom, M.D., Ph.D., is a multidisciplinary laboratory that aims to better understand human neurophysiology and improve the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. Our methods include invasive and noninvasive forms of brain stimulation, multiscale invasive electroencephalography, high-density electroencephalography, and computational modeling. We have a special interest in neural adaptation, that is, how brain responses change over time.

Current projects include:

  • Developing EEG biomarkers to guide epilepsy therapy
  • Evaluating brain stimulation approaches for epilepsy treatment
  • Understanding how neural adaptation affects brain function
