Pamela S. Sinicrope, M.P.H., Dr.PH., develops novel, theory-based behavioral and communication-based interventions to prevent the morbidity and mortality related to cancer and chronic illness.

Focus areas

• Treatment goal-setting interventions for people diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
• Family-based approaches for smoking cessation and cancer screening.
• Community-based participatory research to reduce health disparities among underserved populations, including those in rural areas, and American Indian or Alaska Native people.
• Mixed-methods evaluation research.

The findings of Dr. Sinicrope's research can be readily integrated within existing systems of care for patients. Two examples include:
