A Study to Explore MRI to Stage Bladder Cancer

About this study

The purposes of this study are to assess image quality of a multiparametric MRI protocol for local staging imaging among patients with bladder cancer, and to assess accuracy of MR imaging in determining muscle invasion.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

 

  • Adult patients (> 18 years).
  • Adult patients with a papillary bladder mass suspicious for urothelial carcinoma who are advised to undergo transurethral resection of a bladder tumor (TURBT) for diagnosis and treatment.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Prior bladder operation or intravesical therapy within 3 months.
  • Crcinoma-in-situ without papillary bladder mass.
  • Cntraindication to MRI or gadolinium contrast.
  • Cystoscopy within 3 days of MRI.
