A Study of Student Outcomes from a Fitness and Nutrition Education Program

About this study

The purpose of this study is to examine whether an education program, designed in partnership with teachers at Moreland Elementary School in West St. Paul and Mayo Clinic InSciEd Out scientists, is able to influence the behavior and health literacy of students. This information will be collected in surveys before and after the students are given the curriculum during the school day.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Students attending 3rd and 4th grade classes at Lincoln K-8 Choice Elementary School in Rochester, MN or Moreland Elementary School in West St. Paul, MN who assent to the study

Exclusion Criteria

  • Students attending 3rd and 4th grade classes at Lincoln K-8 Choice Elementary School in Rochester, MN or Moreland Elementary School in West St. Paul, MN whose parents chose to opt-out of the study or who do not assent to the study
