Inclusion Criteria:

• Graves' Disease
  • ≥18 years of age
  • TSH < 0.1 mIU/L
  • RAI scan and uptake: symmetric bilateral and>% LLN
  • Total T4 > 11.7 mcg/dL /total T3 > 200 ng/dL or Free T4 level: ≥1.7 ng/dL
• Painless Thyroiditis
  • ≥18 years of age
  • TSH < 0.1 mIU/L
  • Thyroid uptake < 3%
  • Total T4 > 11.7 mcg/dL /total T3 > 200 ng/dL or Free T4 level: ≥1.7 ng/dL
  • Absence of iodine exposure, neck pain
  • Note: immunomodulatory therapy should be mentioned clinically
• Subacute Thyroiditis
  • ≥18 years of age
  • TSH < 0.1 mIU/L
  • Thyroid uptake < 3%
  • Total T4 > 11.7 mcg/dL /total T3 > 200 ng/dL or Free T4 level: ≥1.7 ng/dL
  • Absence of iodine exposure
  • Presence of neck pain, elevated ESR > ULN for age
  • Note: immunomodulatory
• Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
  • ≥18 years of age
  • TSH > 4.2 mIU/L
  • TPO antibodies >9 IU/L or ULN for the assay
  • US pattern or cytology or pathology consistent with HT
• Graves’ Orbitopathy
  • ≥18 years of age
  • Presence of manifestations for GO, both inactive and active (CAS≥3)
  • History of autoimmune thyroid disease
  • CT/MRI consistent w/ GO
• Healthy Controls Serum
  • ≥18 years of age
  • No personal or family history of thyroid disease
  • Normal TSH cascade
  • No use of medication known to affect thyroid function
  • Normal thyroid exam
• Orbital Controls
  • ≥18 years of age
  • Patients that are scheduled to undergo orbital decompression for non-autoimmune conditions (e.g. normal pressure hydrocephalus, trauma etc.)
• Pretibial Myxedema
  • ≥18 years of age
  • Diagnosis of PTM on clinical grounds, confirmed in Dermatology 

Exclusion Criteria:

• Graves' Disease
  • Prior treatment with thyroidectomy or radioiodine or concurrent treatment with anti-thyroid drugs (preferred newly diagnosed patients).
  • Pregnancy
• Painless Thyroiditis
  • Pregnancy
• Subacute Thyroiditis
  • Pregnancy
• Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
  • Absence history of RAI therapy or external radiation to thyroid; absence thyroid cancer history
  • Pregnancy
• Graves’ Orbitopathy
  • History of radiation to orbits; immunomodulatory therapy except oral steroids (>4 weeks off)
  • Pregnancy
