A Study to Evaluate Azacitidine Plus Venetoclax Induction Chemotherapy To Treat Acute Myeloid Leukemia Patients for T-cell Directed Immunotherapy Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to evaluate immune profile of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) patients receiving Venetoclax plus Azacitidine induction chemotherapy. Cellular Immunotherapy for Viral Induced Cancer - EBV Positive Lymphomas Rochester, Minn. To investigate the efficacy of autologous Epstein-barr virus (EBV)-specific T cells for the treatment of EBV positive Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL) and Post-transplant Lymphoproliferative Disease (PTLD) after failing first line treatment. A Study Evaluating Temozolomide vs. Temozolomide and Olaparib for Advanced Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine how well the addition of olaparib to the usual treatment, temozolomide, works in treating patients with neuroendocrine cancer (pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma) that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic) or cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). PARPs are proteins that help repair DNA mutations. PARP inhibitors, such as olaparib, can keep PARP from working, so tumor cells can't repair themselves, and they may stop growing. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving olaparib with temozolomide may shrink or stabilize the cancer in patients with pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma better than temozolomide alone. A Study of Proton Radiation Divided into Fewer Doses for Low Risk Prostate Cancer Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects (good and bad) on patients with prostate cancer by comparing the standard dose of radiation therapy (44 treatments over 8½-9 weeks) with a higher daily dose of radiation (5 treatments over 1-2 weeks) to see if the effects of the treatments are similar or better. A Study to Detect Actionable or Predictive Tumor DNA Mutations in Peripheral Blood (Liquid Biopsy) from Patients with Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of isolating circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and cfDNA from patients with CCA for molecular characterization and compare the mutation results between peripheral blood and tumor tissue. A Study of Intravital Microscopy (IVM) in Human Solid Tumors Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of performing HIVM in patients with deep space solid tumors during standard course of surgical resection. A Study to Evaluate the Use of Organoids to Advance Precision Medicine in Bladder Cancer Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to develop patient-derived organoid cultures of urothelial carcinoma from non-invasively obtained urine samples and to characterize the histological, molecular and functional features of patient-derived organoids. A Study to Evaluate Daratumumab/rHuPh20 +/- Lenalidomide as Post-ASCT Maintenance for Multiple Myeloma with Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) to Direct Therapy Duration Rochester, Minn., Eau Claire, Wis., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The primary purpose of this study is to compare overall survival between two treatment arms, with lenalidomide as the comparator arm and lenalidomide + daratumumab/rHuPH20 as the experimental arm, in post-autologous transplant multiple myeloma (MM) patients. A Study to Evaluate the Combination of Selinexor with Pomalidomide and Dexamethasone +/- Carfilzomib to Treat Patients with Refractory Multiple Myeloma Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate selinexor combined with carfilzomib, pomalidomide and dexamethasone or pomalidomide and dexamethasone for the treatment of relapsed refractory multiple myeloma. A Study to Evaluate Hemorrhage and Thrombosis in Hematology Malignancies Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to determine: the incidence of hemorrhage in the 3 months following deep vein thrombosis diagnosis in hospitalized malignant hematology patients, based on anticoagulant use and presence of thrombocytopenia, and recurrent or progressive venous thromboembolism in the 3 months following deep vein thrombosis diagnosis in hospitalized malignant hematology patients, based on anticoagulant use and presence of thrombocytopenia. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
