Early pancreatic cancer detection Jacksonville, Fla. The primary purpose of this study is to standardize the collection of demographic, clinical, and imaging data, and biosamples for a large high-risk familial Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarinoma (PDAC) cohort at consortium clinical cancer centers, worldwide. A Study of the Safety, Tolerability, Drug/Body Interactions, Biological and Clinical Activity of MSB0011359C (M7824) in Metastatic or Locally Advanced Solid Tumors Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to assess the safety, tolerability, drug/body interactions, and the biological and clinical activities of MSB0011359C (M7824) at different dose levels given to patients who have metastatic or locally advanced solid tumors. A Study to Evaluate VSV-hIFNbeta-NIS to Treat Patients with Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myleoma, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, or T-cell Lymphoma Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. This phase I trial studies the best dose and side effects of recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus carrying the human NIS and IFN beta genes (VSV-hIFNbeta-sodium iodide symporter [NIS]) in treating patients with multiple myeloma, acute myeloid leukemia, or T-cell lymphoma that has come back or does not respond to treatment. A virus, called VSV-hIFNbeta-NIS, which has been changed in a certain way, may be able to kill cancer cells without damaging normal cells. A Study to Compare Stereotactic Radiosurgery to Hippocampal-Avoidant Whole Brain Radiotherapy Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to compare stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) to whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT) in patients with 5 or more brain metastases. Study to Evaluate 99mTc-MIP-1404 SPECT/CT Imaging in Men With Biopsy Proven Low-Grade Prostate Cancer Rochester, Minn. 99mTc-MIP-1404 is a radioactive diagnostic imaging agent indicated for imaging men with newly diagnosed prostate cancer whose biopsy indicates a histopathologic Gleason Score of ≤ 3+4 severity who are candidates for active surveillance and are undergoing voluntary radical prostatectomy (RP) [Cohort A] or routine prostate biopsy [Cohort B]. This Phase 3 study is designed to evaluate the specificity and sensitivity of 99mTc-MIP-1404 SPECT/CT imaging to correctly identify subjects with previously unknown clinically significant prostate cancer. Analyses of Metabolic Agents Following Brain Radiation Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of serial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) assessments to evaluate the pharmacodynamic impact of agents targeting radiation-induced biology administered following completion of brain radiation. Long-Term Follow-Up of Patients Who Have Participated in Children's Oncology Group Studies Rochester, Minn. This clinical trial is studying long-term follow-up in patients who are or have participated in Children's Oncology Group studies. Developing a way to track patients enrolled in Children's Oncology Group studies will help doctors gather long-term follow-up information and may help the study of cancer in the future. A Study to Collect Surgical Tumor Samples for Prostate Cancer-derived Tissue Graft Rochester, Minn. The purposes of this study are to collect prostate surgical samples from metastatic patients to establish xenograft tumor lines for future testing of potential therapies and for understanding mechanisms of therapy resistance via DNA/RNA sequencing, to collect patient blood samples for future DNA/RNA sequencing , and to collect patient urine samples for future prostate cancer related biomarker detection and DNA/RNA sequencing. A Study to Evaluate the Feasibility of Intraoperative Microdialysis (tissue sampling) during Neurosurgery for Central Nervous System Malignancies Rochester, Minn. Intraoperative Microdialysis During Neurosurgery for Central Nervous System Malignancies Breath Condensate of Lung Cancer Patients and Healthy Controls to Measure RNA Species in Exhaled Breath Condensate Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to develop tests for early detection of lung cancer (LC) based on multiomics analyses of patients’ breath condensates. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
