SUMMARY

Cody C. Wyles, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon who studies the use of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to improve care for musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Wyles is principle investigator of the Orthopedic Surgery Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Mayo Clinic. The Wyles lab explores how AI can assist in diagnosing, planning and managing treatments more accurately and efficiently.

Major areas of study include predictive modeling to assess risks, AI-powered image processing for enhanced surgical precision, and data analysis tools for better patient classification and outcomes.

Dr. Wyles and his team work in all subdisciplines of orthopedics, including hip and knee reconstruction, shoulder and elbow reconstruction, spine, pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine, trauma, musculoskeletal oncology, hand and wrist, and foot and ankle.
