SUMMARY

Diana L. Snyder, M.D., is a gastroenterologist and esophageal specialist who studies esophageal motility disorders and eosinophilic esophagitis. Dr. Snyder's research is focused on understanding opioid-induced esophageal dysfunction.

Focus areas

  • Opioid-induced esophageal dysfunction. Dr. Snyder studies how chronic opioid use causes symptoms in the esophagus and esophageal motility disorders.
  • Eosinophilic esophagitis. Dr. Snyder leads clinical trials to evaluate novel treatment options for this condition.

Significance to patient care

Dr. Snyder hopes to help patients with opioid-induced esophageal dysfunction through a structured opioid cessation program. For those who are not able to wean from opioids, she also hopes to discover new treatment options. In addition, she is working to determine efficacious treatments for patients with eosinophilic esophagitis.
