Shuja.Fahad@mayo.edu Clinical Profile

SUMMARY

Fahad Shuja, M.B.B.S., has an interest in clinical research focusing on patient outcomes, with a goal of defining the right treatment for the right patient.

Focus areas

  • Outcomes after complex endovascular interventions to treat peripheral artery disease with special emphasis on limb salvage and quality of life, and understanding when these treatments are indicated
  • Understanding the natural history of acute aortic syndrome
  • Minimizing the risk of stroke after carotid artery stenting

Significance to patient care

With the ever-increasing realm of vascular interventions, it is crucial to analyze these procedures to make them safer and more effective. The notion of one-size-fits-all does not hold true for most of these procedures, and treatments must be tailored to individual patient needs. Observational data mimicking a real-world setting can be a tremendous asset to understanding disease conditions and potential treatments.
