SUMMARY
The research efforts of Daniel B.F. Saris, M.D., Ph.D., focus on optimizing the regenerative biological reconstruction of joints and the musculoskeletal system, improving treatment for and understanding of knee injuries, and developing advanced imaging and early intervention strategies.
Dr. Saris specializes in knee surgery from the simplest meniscus repair to complex knee problems including partial and total knee arthroplasty, osteotomy, joint distraction, and complex ligament reconstructions. His specific expertise is in regenerative medicine and cartilage repair with cell technology, and he is recognized internationally for his advanced strategies for complex knee reconstruction using tissues and biomaterials. He helped establish ChondroCelect in the EU ATMP registry and MACI in EMA and Food and Drug Administration registration. Dr. Saris is the inventor of IMPACT one-stage cell therapy. He has an active interest in patient information modernization, and his goal is to provide personalized, reliable, cost-efficient care.
