Bruce E. Pollock, M.D., is a board-certified neurological surgeon who conducts patient outcome studies on a wide variety of intracranial disorders, including arteriovenous malformations, benign and malignant brain tumors, and trigeminal neuralgia. Dr. Pollock specializes in Gamma Knife radiosurgery and has performed more than 4,000 cases over the past 20 years.

Focus areas

• Trigeminal neuralgia. Dr. Pollock performs approximately 100 operations a year for patients with medically unresponsive trigeminal neuralgia. The operations include microvascular decompression, percutaneous needle-based techniques (glycerol rhizotomy, balloon microcompression) and Gamma Knife radiosurgery. He is investigating the relative effectiveness of the different surgical approaches.
