SUMMARY

The research interests of Karina A. Keogh, M.D., focus on asthma and airway diseases occurring alone or in the setting of a system disease process such as eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), a form of vasculitis associated with asthma.

Dr. Keogh's research involves both assessments of diagnostic tools and evaluation of new treatments, including clinical drug trials.

Focus areas

  • Asthma. Dr. Keogh is clinical director of the Asthma Clinic within Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic's Rochester, Minnesota, campus. She studies diagnostic measures for asthma, including fractional excretion of exhaled nitric oxide, and is a study investigator in phase III clinical trials for both asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
  • Vasculitis. Dr. Keogh is an investigator in both clinical trials of pharmaceutical agents and in longitudinal studies of inflammation of the blood vessels (vasculitis).
  • Cough. Dr. Keogh participates in ongoing clinical research regarding the diagnosis and management of chronic cough disorders.
