Jatoi.Aminah@mayo.edu Clinical Profile

SUMMARY

Aminah Jatoi, M.D., is a medical oncologist with special research interests in women's cancers, gastrointestinal cancers and supportive care issues.

Focus areas

  • Ovarian cancer
  • Gynecological malignancies
  • Gastrointestinal cancers
  • Supportive care issues in cancer patients

Significance to patient care

Cancer patients come to Mayo Clinic and other major cancer centers across the country with the goal of having their cancer treated in the most effective manner possible. However, in pursuit of this goal, many issues may emerge — side effects from the cancer treatment, anxiety related to the cancer and to cancer treatment, and distressing signs and symptoms related to the cancer itself. Part of Dr. Jatoi's research is aimed at addressing these parallel or sometimes intersecting issues.
