Jaroszewski, M.D., studies thoracic surgery, including minimally invasive esophagectomy, lung cancer surgery, surgery for coccidioidomycosis, lung infections and other lung problems. Her primary area of focus and expertise is in chest wall deformities and the cardiopulmonary effects of pectus excavatum deformities. Dr. Jaroszewski shares her knowledge with the world. Significance to patient care
Dr. Jaroszewski serves as chair of the Division of Thoracic Surgery and director of the Mayo Clinic chest wall and thoracic surgery program, the largest volume adult pectus treatment site in North America. She has performed over 1,200 pectus operations. She has one of the world's largest intraoperative echocardiogram databases and research programs detailing the cardiopulmonary effects of pectus deformities. Her research has improved patient care by providing an understanding of the effects of pectus deformities on the heart and mediastinal structures. Dr. Jaroszewski also studies the health improvements that pectus surgery provides.
