The research interests of Jeff L. Fidler, M.D., include the evaluation of innovative computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging techniques for the assessment of gastrointestinal disease, particularly as it affects the bowel and the liver.

Dr. Fidler is a member of the Department of Radiology. He also receives funding from the National Institutes of Health for collaborative work with Mayo's CT Clinical Innovation Center.

Focus areas

• Imaging of liver disease. Chronic liver disease, liver cancer (hepatobiliary neoplasms) and liver transplantation are particular areas of focus.
• Innovative imaging techniques. Dr. Fidler is investigating novel methods for computerized tomography (CT) colonography, CT and magnetic resonance (MR) enterography, and CT and MR enteroclysis, as well as gastrointestinal functional imaging utilizing CT and MR.
• Gastrointestinal disease. Dr. Fidler researches the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal bleeding and inflammatory bowel disease.
• Pancreatic cancer. Dr. Fidler's research interests also include imaging and treatment of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
