SUMMARY

The research of Eduardo E. Benarroch, M.D., is focused on alterations of neurochemically defined neuronal groups in the brainstem and hypothalamus that control homeostasis in neurodegenerative disorders, such as multiple system atrophy and Lewy body disorders.

Dr. Benarroch's research is funded by the Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) Coalition.

Significance to patient care

Dr. Benarroch's research provides further understanding of the mechanisms of disease and the basis of autonomic, respiratory and sleep symptoms in multiple system atrophy, Parkinson's disease and related disorders in order to provide the rational for development of new treatments.
