Overview

The mission of the X-Ray Imaging Core at Mayo Clinic is to offer the highest level of X-ray imaging services to the Mayo Clinic research community through access to top-of-the-line imaging equipment and expert support personnel to assist investigators. We can help investigators be more competitive by incorporating cutting-edge X-ray imaging into their research programs and developing and providing novel, noninvasive biomarkers of disease presence, progression and regression. In addition to the exquisite details that can be seen in the images produced, methods to quantify form and function also are available.

The X-Ray Imaging Core provides:

  • Whole-body CT scanning.
  • Human post-mortem CT imaging.
  • Portable fluoroscopy.
  • Surgery suite.
  • Biplane fluoroscopy.
  • Micro-CT scanning.
  • Research procedure preparation and surgery space.
  • Image processing and data analysis.
  • Imaging protocol development with Ph.D. physicists.

The X-Ray Imaging Core provides services to all Mayo Clinic faculty and staff engaged in research. Additionally, services may be available on a limited basis to investigators and research collaborators outside Mayo Clinic. Before scheduling, contact the core to design optimal settings for the specified imaging task.
