Pediatric Trauma Rule Out - Point of Care Panel

About this study

The purpose of this study is to create a point of care (POC) biomarker panel for pediatric trauma patients using a novel platform that will be a highly sensitive, low cost, noninvasive approach to ruling out clinically significant injuries in children presenting for trauma evaluation.

 

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Children under the age of 18.
  • Presenting to the Emergency Department at Mayo Clinic/St. Marys as a leveled trauma activation for blunt trauma.
  • Receiving blood draw for clinical labs.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients who are known to be pregnant or prisoners.
  • Patients whose injuries are the result of intentional self-harm.
