A Prospective Validation Study of Early Prediction of Migraine Preventive Treatment Response

About this study

The purpose of this study is to test the accuracy of a previously developed algorithm for predicting patient outcomes to migraine preventive treatments. Also, to optimize the performance of a previously developed algorithm for predicting patient outcomes to migraine preventive treatments.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Has migraine, including episodic migraine, chronic migraine, migraine with aura, and/or migraine without aura.
  • 4-25 migraine days per month.
  • Access to a device that enables completion of the electronic headache diary.
  • Starting a new medication or neuromodulation device for the prevention of migraine.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Fewer than 4 or more than 25 migraine days per month.
  • Migraine with brainstem aura, hemiplegic migraine, acephalgic migraine only, retinal migraine only, cluster headache or other trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, secondary headaches other than medication overuse headache.
  • Conditions or comorbidities that in the investigators’ opinion might alter the ability of the individual to fully participate.
