A Study of Prostate Cancer Care and Survivorship Among Sub-Saharan African Immigrant Impacted by Social Determinants of Migrant Health Factors

About this study

The primary objective of this study is to employ the social determinant of migrant health framework (International Organization for Migration, n.d.) to examine the impact of immigration on the health-seeking behaviors of Sub-Saharan African Immigrant (SSAI) including informed-decision making, psychosocial effects and coping mechanisms.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

Adult men originally from each of these geographic regions (East, West, Central, and Southern Africa) and have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Able to provide oral consent and conduct an interview.

Exclusion Criteria:

Patients below the age of 18.
Patients not belonging to any of four regions.
