A Study to Assess Adrenal Aging in Menopausal Women

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) on adrenal aging as measured by the 24h urine steroid metabolome and as compared to the age-matched postmenopausal women.  

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Postmenopausal women with or without history of BSO.
  • Willing and able to complete informed consent for this study.
  • Already enrolled in IRB#18-008476.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Ongoing exogenous glucocorticoid therapy.
