A Study to Compare Dual-Energy CT and Whole Body MRI for Monitoring of Bone Involvement in Multiple Myeloma Patients

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of Dual-Energy CT (DECT) with Virtual Non-calcium (VNCa) and fat measurement in assessing multiple myeloma disease activity following treatment, with MRI and clinical/ laboratory parameters as reference standards.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients 30 years of age or older.
  • Provision of signed and dated informed consent form.
  • Diagnosis of multiple myeloma requiring therapy or relapsed multiple myeloma requiring change in therapy.
  • Stated willingness to comply with all study procedures and availability for the duration of the study.
  • Non-pediatric patient.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Pediatric patient.
  • Have known metallic implants that preclude MR scanning.
  • Pregnant (a urine pregnancy test will be given at no cost to the patient).
