A Study to Analyze Sport Nutrition Knowledge and Its Influence on Energy Availability and Body Composition in Athletes

About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess the sport nutrition knowledge base of athletes and the relationship between energy availability and body composition in athletes.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Between the ages of 11-65 years old.
  • Free of any musculoskeletal, metabolic or cardiovascular related diseases or conditions.
  • Regularly engaged in training and/or competing at the collegiate, amateur or professional level.
  • Been participating in the sport for > 6 months.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Individuals with less than 6 months of structured training experience. 
  • An individual who is currently being treated for or diagnosed with a cardiac, respiratory, circulatory, musculoskeletal, metabolic, immune, hematological, neurological or endocrinological disorder or disease.
  • Inividuals who present with any previous injury or illness that would prevent them from appropriately completing their regular training.
  • Individuals less than 11 and greater than 65 years of age.
  • Participants younger than 11 and greater than 65 years old lie outside of the target demographic for the current study.
