A Study to Identify Biomarkers in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Interstitial Lung Disease

About this study

The purpose of this study is to establish the immunometabolic profile of T cells isolated from patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis/Interstitial Lung Disease (RA/ILD), to identify distinguishing features in the metabolic status of T cells from RA patients with and without ILD, and to explore the use of immunometabolic determinants as a biomarker in RA patients with and without ILD.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients positive for rheumatoid factor and/or anti-CCP antibodies.
  • Patients with CAD documented by prior bypass surgery, prior placing of coronary stents of prior documentation of myocardial infarction
  • Healthy Controls:
    • > 60 years of age;
    • No history of cardiovascular disease based on evaluation of a physician.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Chronic viral infection.
  • History of chemo/radiotherapy.
  • History of cancer.
  •  
  • Healthy Controls:
    • Hx of autoimmune disease;
    • Hx of chemo/radiotherapy.
  • History of cancer (with the exception of basal cell carcinoma of the skin).
