A Study to Identify Genetic Risk Determinants in Families with High Penetrance Type 1 Diabetes

About this study

The purpose of this study is to identify novel genetic variants that predispose to Type 1 Diabetes.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Families with high penetrance of T1D. 
  • Aged 3-80 years old.
  • Affected individuals and individuals who are siblings, direct line ancestors (parents, grandparents) or descendants (children, grandchildren) of affected individuals.
  • For subjects between the ages of 3-6 years old, parental permission will be obtained. 
  • For subjects aged 7-12, assent will be obtained.
  • For subjects aged 13-80, consent will be obtained. 
  • For all subjects aged 3-17 years of age, parental permission will be obtained.

  • None.
