A Study of After Exercise Mechanical Dyssynchrony and Acute Response to Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy in Patients with Congestive Heart Failure

About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess the presence and severity of mechanical dyssynchrony in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) when selecting to CRT in resting and after-exercise echocardiography by multiple echocardiographic techniques, and to evaluate association of exercise-induced mechanical dyssynchrony with acute response to CRT. 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:  

  • Patients with CHG (Congestive Heart Failure) with reduced LVEF ≤35%, NYHA II-IV when selected to CRT.
  • Patients who are able to make 6 minute walk test.
  • Patients with high quality available echocardiographic data at rest and after exercise.
  • Patients on optimal medical therapy.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Patients who were not implanted with CRT devices.
  • Patients with atrial fibrillation.
