Study to Evaluate the Utility, Safety, Effectiveness, and Cost of Physical Therapy on Elective Spine Surgery Patients

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the utility, safety, effectiveness, and cost of physical therapy on elective spine surgery patients.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

Age 18 to 75 years old.
Elective 1-2 level non instrumented spine surgery (decompression and/or discectomy) in thecervical, thoracic and/or lumbar spine.
Independent ambulation prior to surgery.

Exclusion Criteria:

Required fusion intra operatively related to emergency.
Non-abulatory prior to surgery.
Has ambulatory deficits or weakness prior to surgery.
