A Study to Assess the Impact of Teleneonatology on the Transport Risk Index of Physiologic Stability (TRIPS) Score for Outborn Neonates

About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of using real-time, audio-video consults for the Transport Risk Index of Physiologic Stability (TRIPS) Score for Outborn Neonates.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

Neonates born at an outside hospital with a Level I-II nursery who are subsequently admitted to the Mayo Clinic NICU, St. Mary’s Campus, Rochester, MN.

Exclusion Criteria:

Admission to the NICU after day of life 3.
Birth outside of a hospital labor and delivery unit.
Presence of the neonatal transport team at time of delivery
Decision made for comfort care only
Physiologic data for the TRIPS score obtained > 30 minutes after arrival of the transport team to the birth hospital.
