Self-assessment of Change in Hair Quality and Lifestyle Factors in Cicatricial Alopecia Patients

About this study

Little is known about the natural history of cicatricial alopecia (CA), including baseline hair characteristics, etiology, risk factors and time course. Therefore this study seeks to design a questionnaire-based study that will explore these specific questions with the goal of learning more about this disease.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Over 18 years old
  • Any diagnosis of cicatricial alopecia
  • Patients from Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN only
  • Authorization and consent form for study involvement

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Under 18 years old
  • Non-scarring alopecia, or alopecia with an identifiable, primary cause
  • Patients from outside facilities or Mayo Clinic campuses other than Rochester, MN
