A Study of Arrhythmia in Eisenmenger’s Syndrome

About this study

The purpose of this study is to describe the incidence and type of arrhythmia seen in patients with Eisenmenger syndrome, to define predisposing factors potentially leading to the onset of arrhythmia, and to describe the influence of arrhythmia on outcomes.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Review the Mayo Clinic database of patients with Eisenmenger syndrome treated between 1990 and 2012

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients without complex pulmonary atresia
  • Those who have had surgical correction and are no longer cyanosed.
  • Single ventricles physiology will only be included with cardiac catheterization proven reduced pulmonary blood flow and severe pulmonary arterial hypertension.
