Cardiac MRE LV Stiffness in Patients With Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Pre and Post Myectomy

About this study

The purpose of this study is to describe the changes in cardiac Magnetic Resonance Elastography stiffness in Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients pre- and post-myectomy.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults, 18 years of age or older.
  • Individuals with HCM.
  • Individuals who will have a myectomy for HCM. 
  • Participants who are willing to have a research, pre-myomectomy cardiac MRI with MRE.
  • Patients who are willing to complete a KCCQ questionnaire before and after the myectomy to assess pre-myectomy and post myectomy symptoms.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients who are less than 18 years old.
