"Less Pain, Less Fuss, Right Now!" and "Make It Count!"- Efforts to Enhance Provider Recommendations for HPV Vaccination

Overview

About this study

We are testing this hypothesis through three phases for which we have developed three protocols. In this phase, with this protocol, we have two primary aims.

  • Aim 1: To assess acceptability and gather input on the design and content of an as-of-yet undistributed reminder-recall to parents of children 11-12 years of age due for an HPV dose that emphasized the pain-reducing measures and the nurse visits
  • Aim 2: To evaluate the process of distributing the reminder-recalls to parents of children 11-12 years of age due for an HPV dose that emphasized the pain-reducing measures and the nurse visits

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Study participants include three groups: Children, their parents and/or legal guardians, and providers.

  • Children must be 11 to 12 years of age, due for a dose of the HPV vaccine, empaneled as patients in one of the six Employee and Community Health practices that provide primary care for children of this age.
  • Parents and/or legal guardians must have children eligible for this study.
  • Providers must belong to one of the six Employee and Community Health practices that provide primary care for children eligible for this study.
