A Study Using a Combined Lung and Heart Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) Examination to Estimate Cardiac Filling Pressures in Hospitalized Patients

About this study

The purpose of this study is to implement a rapid hemodynamic heart-lung protocol performed at the bedside by cardiology and critical care fellows and subsequently correlate ultrasound-derived hemodynamic parameters with PAC-derived parameters.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

Patients >18 years of age admitted to the hospital, with existing pulmonary artery catheter (PAC) in place, or recent right heart catheterization (within 1 hour)

Exclusion Criteria:

Patients <18 years old
