A Study to Assess the Feasibility of Folate Scan in Patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility of Folate scan in patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  1. Clinical/Radiological/Pathological diagnosis of IPF
  2. Signed informed consent
  3. Age >= 18 years
  4. Not required: Scheduled to undergo or recently underwent diagnostic lung biopsy or scheduled for lung transplantation (we will preferentially invite patients to participate in this study if they are scheduled to undergo a clinically indicated lung biopsy or lung transplantation)

Exclusion Criteria

  1. Immunosuppressive therapy (> 5 mg/day of Prednisone or inhaled corticosteroids)
  2. Pregnancy or breast feeding
  3. Subject is mentally incapable of understanding study procedures.
  4. Patient is unable to tolerate the conditions for radionuclide imaging
