Understanding the Biology of Uterine Smooth Muscle

About this study

This study will investigate the biology of uterine smooth muscle cells and particularly explore the commonalities it has with smooth muscle cells of the airway.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Able and willing to give consent
  • Age 18 or older
  • Presence of known or suspected leiomyoma as evidenced by history, physical exam and prior imaging

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Women with previous diagnosis of leiomyoma but negative pathology
  • Pregnancy
