A Study of Hand Patterns in Children While Grasping Objects of Daily Use

About this study

The purpose of this study to observe and understand the various postures used by a child's hand for grasping things in their everyday activities. These postures will be used to form the design and implementation of myoelectric hand prosthesis for children.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria  

  • Ages between 3 and 7 years
  • Should be able to comprehend the tasks being asked to perform

Exclusion Criteria 

  • Should not have had a history of upper limb surgery or trauma in the past 6 months
  • Use of medications that might affect sensory and/or motor functions
