Prostaglandin Levels in Pancreatic Cyst Fluid, Pancreatic Juice, and Resected Pancreatic Cysts

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine whether COX-2 enzyme activity in pancreatic cystic neoplasms is sufficient to justify a chemoprevention study.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  1. Subject (or, if they are between 13 and 17 years of age, their parent or guardian) is able to give informed consent, and is not incarcerated;
  2. Subject is undergoing a clinically indicated endoscopic, percutaneous, or surgical procedure during which fluid will likely be obtained from a pancreas cystic structure or pancreatic fluid collection, OR
  3. Subject is undergoing a clinically indicated secretin-stimulated collection of pancreatic juice, with pancreatic juice collection from the duodenum via an endoscope or per-oral tube.
