Collection of Blood and Urine in Healthy Patients Who are Being Considered for the Kidney Donor Program

About this study

The purpose of this study is to create a group of blood and urine samples from Mayo Clinic patients being screened for the kidney donor program as well as to collect risk factor data through a questionnaire. The data, blood and urine samples will be used for future research of kidney diseases at Mayo Clinic and future research at Mayo Clinic to learn about, prevent, or treat other health problems.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Individuals (male or female) who are being considered for the kidney donor program.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • No prior history of kidney cancer.
  • Can understand and sign informed consent.
  • Willing to provide clinical data and a blood and urine sample.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Inability to understand and sign informed consent.
  • Inability to come to Mayo Clinic for donor screening appointment.
