About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine how common bariatric surgical procedures alter carbohydrate metabolism by examining the effect of vagal nerve stimulation on insulin secretion and action.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate.   • Previous Implantation of a Vagal Nerve Stimulator for obesity as part of a prior study examining the effect of the vagal nerve stimulator on obesity
