About this study

This research study is being done to develop educational materials that will help patients and clinicians talk about diabetes treatment and management options.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

- Clinicians who meet with patients to discuss diabetes treatment options at Mayo Clinic, Rochester

Adults ≥ 18 years
Diagnosis of Diabetes
Appointment to discuss treatment options for Diabetes

Adults ≥ 18 years
Attending appointment with enrolled patient

Adults ≥ 18 years
Member of the Diabetes Advisory Group at Mayo Clinic, Rochester

Exclusion Criteria

Major barriers to participate in shared decision making or to providing informed consent (i.e. dementia, severe hearing or visual impairment)
