About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare myocardial stiffness between subjects with and without heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Subjects with shortness of breath referred for invasive, catheter-based hemodynamic assessment for HFpEF.
  • Subjects with a clinical diagnosis of HFpEF will be included.
  • Normal subjects will be recruited for comparison with HFpEF subjects

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Subjects will also be excluded for contraindications to MRI including aneurysm clips and cardiac pacemakers/internal defibrillators. 
  • Women of childbearing age will be excluded for self-reported pregnancy.
