A Study of the Long-Term Outcomes for the Living Donors of Kidneys, Based on the Anatomy

About this study

The purpose of this study is to find out if the size of a donor's remaining kidney or the microscopic appearance of a tissue biopsy from the donated kidney is predictive of long-term kidney function and overall health.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Participants ≥ 23 years of age.
  • Implantation kidney biopsy or pre-donation electronic contrast CT scan of kidneys obtained and available for analysis.
  • At least 5 years post kidney donation.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Individuals < 23 years of age.
  • Unable to give consent or participate due to a cognitive or psychological impairment.
