A Study of Using Ultrasound to Evaluate Masses in the Liver

About this study

The purpose of this study is to investigate the value of ultrasound imaging of small blood vessels and tumor stiffness as a new biomarker to characterize the disease and evaluate early treatment for cancer.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Male or female
  • Has hepatic masses
  • Age 18 or greater
  • Body mass index (BMI) below 35

Exclusion Criteria

  • Unreliable ultrasound images due to conditions such as fatty liver or poor ultrasound imaging window
  • Adults lacking capacity to consent
  • Vulnerable subjects such as prisoners
