A Study to Assess Physician Preferences for Electronic Chart Review and Historical Information Needs for New Patient Encounters in the ICU

About this study

The purpose of this study is to develop an interactive medical record timeline based on physician preferences and perceived clinical needs, to improve the chart review process for new patient encounters in the ICU.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Clinicians
    • All Mayo Rochester consultants, fellows, NPs or PAs rotating through Mary Brigh 6 B/G or Eisenberg 10-3 ICUs
  • Patients
    • All adult patients newly admitted to above ICUs under the primary (or co-managed) care of the ICU team

Exclusion Criteria

  • Clinicians
    • None
  • Patients
    • Less than 18 years old
    • Have declined general research consent
    • Have been admitted to the same ICU within the preceding seven days (ICU readmissions)
